Trainee/ Intern wanted Carmarthenshire.
Banc Organics is a small CSA/ box scheme, in the last 18 months we have seen sales more than double and so are looking for someone to join our team to help us grow more veg. Initially this is for a six month period as a trainee/intern but provided the scheme continues to go well we would be looking to make this into a proper paid job for the right person.
We grow a wide range of organic crops on about 1Ha and 6 poly tunnels. This area is challenging for this kind of scheme due to demographics and growing conditions are less than due to climate and soils but this has led to innovative approaches and we are proud of our success.
It is also a beautiful, friendly area of the country and the community around our farm is welcoming.
We are looking for a dedicated, bright, fit and hardworking individual who would enjoy working as part of our friendly team but is also able to work independently at times. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience at Banc Organics and we are part of a small organic farm Tir Eithin, so there would be an opportunity to be involved in animal or general farm work at times if interested. A little knowledge of growing would be helpful but not essential. We discuss your training/learning needs and will support your learning in ways that are appropriate with on the job training and informal or formal study.
We are able to offer accommodation (probably a static caravan) with bills included, some food and a generous allowance (in the region of £50-60) and would expect 25-30 hours a week work the precise details of the package can be negotiated to fit the individual.
To discuss the position phone Martin 01269871334/07815486193 or email [email protected] to express an interest. We would hope to appoint someone by the end of March.
