Hi everyone.  I had a veg box customer cancel recently citing far that “dirt” (soil) is a worry for the pregnant wife.  Does anyone have any papers to show the soil is actually beneficial in building strong immune systems, or anything else that might help reassure this customer?

    With best wishes

Rather random worry, I know about cat litter & sheep being a source of caution, but know of no evidence that soil could be harmful! Are they thinking of E coli from manure? Not sure about specific evidence beneficial soil, I know there have been some especially around benefits to immune system & depression… – you could tell them that you know many growers who have carried on work whilst pregnant getting covered in soil & had healthy bouncy bubbas?!
